Moviestarplanet
While fame, fashion and fortune are not the most important things in life, smarter kids can skip that delusional statement. It's good for dreamers. You need to know what your kid gets off the website and why. Honestly, there are some positive messages, like Pixi Star's (your first friend you get) status says it's 'important to be nice'. However, that is quickly ruined: the 3rd level is called 'wannabe'. Lethal enforcers the gunfighters. It's confusing. There is really skimpy outfits.
Why would you want someone as young as 8 to even be exposed to this.? Finding a 'love' for your profile. Are you kidding me?! Let's ensure your kid will find trouble on this website. What is MovieStarPlanet? The website explains that 'MovieStarPlanet is a safe, creative, and social online playground for children.' - MovieStarPlanet forum.
Using our MovieStarPlanet Hack Tool you will be able to add more Coins and Gold! The great part is that you don't need to download anything and all you have to do is very simple. Open our site, enter your Username/E-Mail, select amount of resources then click on the generate button.
But unfortunately, this is far from the truth.MovieStarPlanet is hazard towards your children. A common factor to prove this, are the users whom hack. This factor is a very serious issue, as many people have had traumatic experiences with these hackers. You may be thinking, 'It's just a game, what's a hacker going to do?' Although most hackers just change your user status, some experienced ones can hack your computer, and locate your i.p address. Some people's credit cards have been used by the hackers as well.Another reason is that children can post pictures of themselves to get likes.
(Or 'loves' as the website calls them) Children as young as eight are free to post pictures of themselves with barely any restrictions, with only a small pop up asking whether they should post the picture or not. Okay, so I played msp since i was 9, YES NINE.
Im not gonna lie, I saw some bad things on there, but I still decided to play due to my addiction. I became very antisocial, my personality changed (i got more frustrated easily) and my mum did not know I was playing it.until one day when she felt like something was wrong and quietly came up behind my back and saw me playing msp. I tried to hide the game (as my mum hates social games) but she saw me, which made things worse. I stopped playing for a bit but then a year later I started again, behind her back. I couldn't focus in class because i was too busy thinking about the game (yes i know my addiction was pretty serious oml).
I then realised how bad it was when i saw two users having.(you know what). Then there were hackers, jeez there were tons, even if they weren't actual hackers they could still threaten people and scare the he.l out of them. My young self, not knowing about hackers, gave them my account cause i was so scared and let them take my VIP (I convinced my mum to get it for me and just told her it was a game to create your own avatar). Anyways, with my OWN money i spent it on many giftcards so i didnt need my parent's permission to get vip. I was about 12 then and bought $20-$30 giftcards now and then. It was so.so.so bad.
I knew it was bad so i cried every few nights and would go back to playing it the next morning (i know i have problems lol). Please, please do not play this game unless if you are of age and are responsible online. MSP cannot control most of this stuff at a time, so do not blame them either. I spent a whole lot of money too on it, lets not forget. AND msp allows boyfriends and girlfriends which appear n ur profile while little kids are on this game! AND the chatrooms, so many chatrooms. People having (u know what) in chatrooms!!!
Please, please be aware when playing games like this.Btw sorry for the longest review I have ever wrote,From,A very experienced teen xx. Moviestarplanet it a super fun game.
While its not perfect if you child knows how to be safe and act correctly online then it will be a very enjoyable game for them. Some tips I would give for staying safe on moviestarplanet. Never give out your password ( does not matter how much you trust them ).Try to stay clear of the forum especially if you under 13. Playing the game I have seen some inappropriate stuff in the forums, Its mostly just teens on the game trolling ( in this case making comments that they probably don't means to get a reaction from other teens on the site ). I would be worried if some of the content in those forum was exposed to some of the younger players.Don't give away any social media accounts such as: facebook, Tumblr, twitter or Instagram. My main concern with this one would be facebook.
Your facebook page contains a lot of information about you such as your age, probably your full name, the city you live in and maybe even your phone number. This is not information that you would want strangers knowing about you. Never give out your phone number or your username to messaging apps ( Kik, skype ) For starters your phone number is something only people you have met face to face should know.
Someone who has your phone number can find you on any website that you have connected your number to. Otherwise kids on the game seem to have a lot of frustration with 'safe chat' ( the safe chat is a bit out of control in some ways with kids getting round it by using X's & emojis in between letters to spell out inappropriate words ) so they resort to giving people there messaging apps username. It's just not a good idea for reason like message apps allow you to talk with no filter and send photos. Please just stay safe and only write what safe chat will let you.Just follow general safety tips and talk to your parents about what they do and don't want you to share online. While there are still some safety concerns the site is rapidly improving. In the 2 years that I have been playing the game I have felt it has been getting safer and safer.
What your child see's on moviestarplanet and who your child talks to on moviestarplanet is all in their ( and your) control. It is super easy to report and block and is strongly promoted to do so if you are feeling bullied or your concerned for you safety while chatting with other players.Overall the game is easy to play and is beloved by tweens and teens everywhere.
If you keep the safety tips in mind you will make new friends, level up quickly and be positive while playing the game. Hope my review was helpful in some ways.thank you. I've been playing this game since 2011.
Back then, I was 7 years old. But, obviously I shouldn't of played. In 2011, MSP was not filled with any sort of drugs, sex, violence.
There was some 'romantic' themes but not much of any sex violence ect. As I aged, people were getting banned for swearing, sexual activity, violence etc. None of this is allowed.
Some if anything get off with at least a warning. The chat boxes/ statuses and chat rooms do block of inappropriate phrases. Sometimes it results in locks or permanent bans. There aren't any advertisments besides the arcade games and YouTube videos.
Some of those videos should be on MSP, but are due to popular demand. But most odd videos get taken down few hours later. People try to scam you for pixelated rare items, and maybe even the currency in game, but never for credit cards. Even the MSP YT channel themselves made a video on how to avoid being hacked on their game. So overall, this game is pretty Safe. Of course it has flaws here and there, but so does every game. If you want, show this review to your parents and friends who are skepitcal about the game.
Personally, it's an okay game that can be played from the age rating. Now, I've been playing since August 2011, almost five years since the day I uploaded this review. I have plenty of knowledge of the game.
Thank you for reading concerned players and parents. She's on ONE server. Basically, just avoid the USA server. You've got to be joking. There are hardly any real hackers, mainly only trolls doing it for attention.
And if your eight year old is not educated enough by YOU as the parent to know to not share information on the internet, I believe that is not a fault in the website but your parenting. Yes, I admit there is some explicit art books uploaded, but there is a REPORT button. MovieStarPlanet is also heavily moderated by employed staff.
Tags rule out all rude words, and whenever MSP see a new way of saying explicit words, they add it to their inter-server banned word list. MovieStarPlanet has won awards for children's safety, for pity's sake!
You can block users, and report them, with the simple click of a button, MSP investigate the issue, and give warnings or lock out as they see fit. And you can also get locked out for sending false reports. Don't listen to the rubbish that the adults are saying. What would they know, do they use the site? Oh wait, that's against the HEAVILY ENFORCED rules. YoAlthough Moviestarplanet looks like a fun, safe virtual world where players can new friends and become famous, the website can be nothing like that at all. If you or your child are/is under seventeen or sixteen, or you don't want yourself/your child to be exposed to such negative stuff, then please save the time and don't sign up.
I made my avatar look pretty 'trendy', then went into a chatroom, then I got so many idiots asking me out. Unfortunately, nobody warned me about that, so I had to learn the hard way. I had to even say in my bio that I don't want a boyfriend, but I still got way too many requests for dating.
The chat rooms and games are quite slow to load, from my experience. People can watch videos from YouTube, but the majority of the recommended videos aren't very appropriate for younger kids. There's an option to get a VIP membership, but that costs money (a little too much money, in my opinion). Some people get so obsessed with having the best items in the game, that they hack others, and it's ridiculous. It's not a very safe place for kids, they will be so exposed to way too much negative stuff, so please, spare yourself/ your child from all that, and don't bother with it. Here's an honest review from a 15 year old boy who's been playing for over 4 years now. It's not a game for kids, or pre-teens for that matter. It's flooded with teenagers, and most of the players aren't a good influence for any age group. The marketing and your own child will tell you that it's harmless and that you can create your own movies and scrapbooks (called artbooks in game) to make friends, but it's a lot more than that.
It's a popularity contest. There's fame levels in game, ranging from level 0, all the way to 101. You level up by making movies, posting photos, making scrapbooks, etc, but that's not the focal point of the game to anyone who takes more than a glace at it.The highest levels (also known as highscorers among players) are very toxic and abusive to lower levels, often using their popularity to target users with smaller levels. This is especially common on the forums, as 'highscorers' will attack users who use the forums and falsely report them, getting the forum users' accounts banned. This has happened to me many times in the past, including recently, and the support is a JOKE if you happen to be falsely banned. They obviously favour the higher level users, as they bring traffic to the website and have spent a large chunk of money on the game itself.
Good luck getting a refund for that $60 vip you bought. The forums are arguably even worse than high level users themselves, however. On the forums, you will find many different types of players, but most of them have one thing in common: they're full of angsty teenagers.Go unto the forums at any time of the day, and you will find a racist, sexist, or downright disgusting forum. You can report it, but the chances of it getting taken down are pretty slim. You also have a chance of finding sexual fiction on the forums, or dirty jokes. If another forum user doesn't like another, they may reveal personal information such as IP addresses or addresses to scare away the user from forums, which is a very common practice.I've also seen players post their own personal information such as addresses, IMessage accounts, social media accounts, and phone numbers on forums to meet or contact other forum users, which isn't surprising as the chat system is very easy to bypass if a user spams the letters v, z, or x between each letter (lvivvkevv thvvvis). You can post your own photos unto the game, which isn't a good idea. There's parental controls to block them from doing so, but by creating a new account they can get around them. The pricing for VIP costs an arm and a leg. $6 for a WEEK.
$80 for a YEAR, and there's absolutely no steady way for your child to make coins when they spend them all, causing you to cough your wallet up when they want a new outfit. There's a boyfriend/girlfriend option on profiles, which you cannot disable. If you go into chat rooms, chances are there's someone asking for a girlfriend or boyfriend.Just skip this game all together, and don't even try it out yourself. There's no good messages being sent from this game, just consumerism and how to be an edgy teenager. If you want to a good game for your young kids, try Webkinz, Roblox, or Animal Jam.If you want a good game for your older kids, try Habbo Hotel. At least those games have parental controls. People trying to make the internet safe for children is a wretched idea.
There will always be a loophole, unless you force people to take out their birth certificates to back up their age. Like, booty shorts? For 8 year olds?
And what about all the guys being shirtless. And then the bikini tops.
More teenagers than children get on this site, and because the grammar is extremely censored, nobody can have fun. Make a change. The site already has 2 stars, might as well do SOMETHING to fix thing. I suggest moving up the age limit to 13 and block off the words that actually matter, unlike 'boo' and 'kik' and 'tyt'.
It's hard to get on this site without a warning for my grammar every 2 seconds. Come-on, people. Stop being stupid and use your common sense. With any online gaming site, eyebrows are initially raised regarding safety and educational value- Movie Star Planet is certainly no exception. Now, I briefly played on the site back in its heyday and I didn't have any majorly negative experiences, but from doing some research since then, it seems there are a few issues whereby explicit messages have been received by users posing a lot of questions as to what age some of those using the site actually are. Some of the 'meeting places' on the site could present safety concerns about how well monitored they are. I myself have wondered how messages sent to users are approved, especially in terms of content.
The concept of having a 'boyfriend' on a children's gaming platform in itself is quite bizarre.Dressing up like a 'movie star' brings up the concept of self-esteem and personally, I think older teenagers would deal with this idea much better than younger children. As much as having fake money to spend, figuring out what outfits match and making movies might well contain some educational value, younger children may not grasp the idea of saving money subconsciously and the idea of creating films alone won't bring about improved literacy and arithmetic skills. All in all, I recommend that parents, no matter what the age of their child/ children, carry out lots of research prior to considering clicking the 'Sign Up' button in order to understand what the game involves. In addition, if parents do indeed decide to create an account/ accounts for their child/ children, they do need to ensure their child/ children are clear on Internet Safety and as parents, they need to be frequently monitoring what activity goes on within the account(s) in case any trouble was to arise and of course, have the knowledge on how to report any issues, or to terminate the account if necessary. Moviestarplnet is supposed to be a kids game about fame, fortune & friends.
Yet there are ADULTS who use this game for inappropriate things. Girls can go into chat-rooms wearing only bikini bras, that could even be colored to match their skin tone. They pressure children into having SEX & do it using certain animations. Adults also hack children out of their star-coins & diamonds (money) & their items. The headquarters doesn't even bother to make it more child friendly. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone above the age of 15. This site was fun, but its not for kids.
Its like a mini dating site. There are revealing clothes, sexual content, and bad lanugage. If you add people as your friends, they can message you and stuff. Some people ask about my age, others ask to date, and some people asked if I want to make a baby. There is this video on Youtube with two people using the animation to pretend to make out and Iv'e seen others do it when I come in rooms. Tthe girls just wear bikinis and the boys wear shorts with no shirt on when they do it. The only good thing is that you can't tell anyone your personal info, like if you say 'meat' MSP will make the text red thinking you are trying to say 'meet'.
“I really hate the idea of other people controlling my destiny.
You can also post pictures of yourself if your 13+. But to me, its too sexual, and you cant buy anything good with low Starcoins. Monitor your children peeps.
