(VERY POSTDATED REVIEW) I never played the first one sadly, but i did get hooked on this one. Even sadder, I did not beat the game so i didnt get the full experience of the powr of Kratos. I generally dont like smash-button games but this one is good. Plus you're not just smashin with a simple purpose. Kratos has a nice collection of strings of combos to deliver that improve as you progress through the game.

The story and action is great. Its challenging and I cannot wait to see what GOW III looks like. I had my doubts about this game, but after trying a taste of what this game has to offer at a friend's flat, I was sold. I've enjoyed my share of Homer's 'Iliad' and 'The Odyssey;' and although 'God of War' does change things around, it certainly freshens the old mythologies a great deal! I encourage anyone to go out, or online, and purchase their own copy of God of War 2.
