Instructions

1. The first thing we do is download the game’s installation files.
2. Mount or burn the ISO image in the disk emulator (UltraISO program).
3. During the installation, we specify the location on the disk where we want to install it.
4. Wait until the installation process is complete, a shortcut will appear on the desktop.
5. Download & install Update v3.5 Hotfix / v3.6 / v3.7 / v3.8, in game folder.
6. Copy the contents of the folder «CODEX» in the folder with the game.

First of all, I love sci-fi, strategy and gal civ is no exception in this. I was wondering though, does this game have co-op functionality? As I play with my friends we find that lack of shared victory, locked teams (so that it's truly us vs the AI, not 4v1v1v1v1 etc.) really hampers the fun we get out of a game and often don't bother buying such a game.Continuing into the multiplayer questions, how does the turnbased gameplay work out? Do you take turn at the same time like in Civ / sword of the stars / Age of wonders or is it more like HoMM where you take turns after each other and you generally grab a book / cook dinner / study while the other players finish their turns and more importantly all the combat? Desolator X - Yes, you can play co-op. Any arrangement of humans and AIs can team up together.

The play style is what we're calling 'simultaneous planning, sequential execution'. Basically this means that you can set all your dials, design ships, set destinations for all your ships, plan building projects and queue up ships and such at any time.

Execution of movement happens one after the other. In practice this seems to do a pretty good job of keeping the pace of the game moving while staying 'turn based' as opposed to 'real time'. I know I'm not the only one having this extremely frustrating issue and I hope they fix it sometime soon (since the game has been out for more than a year now). The multiplayer just will not work, whether it crashes or just won't process the turns it will leave you saving and loading more than you're playing.

Yes, but the only thing that has changed is that I haven't had a crash yet. Aside from that I'll barely make it 5 turns if I'm lucky before it gets stuck trying to finish a players turn (player or NPC).

The only thing I can do to make it continue is to have the other players leave game and it resumes, and once back to my turn I save and reload the game. Its a painful process and few times I will get stuck on the very same turn with the same player (seems to be a random player per new game). The worst part is just how much we love this game lol.
